First Meeting of the Task Force for Assessment
July 18-21, 2001

White Plains, New York

During its first meeting the Task Force reviewed the purpose of Phase 2 of the IIME Project and established a set of working ground rules for discussion. The Task Force clarified the assumptions under which the assessment tools would be chosen and specified principles under which the assessment tools would be developed.

For the sake of clarity in evaluation, some editorial changes to the General Minimum Essential Requirements document were suggested, and evaluation tools were identified for each bullet under each GMER domain. Four general "types" of assessment tools were identified as potentially most useful in evaluating all domains.

It was agreed that the next meeting of the Task Force will take place on October 4-6, 2001.
